Kasabian – Vlad the Impaler
West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum – 2009
Kasabian’s latest album, completed in collaboration with world-renowned electronica producer Dan-the-Automator (known for his incredible work with the Gorillaz), contains a number of excellent, pulse-pounding rocks, but ‘Vlad the Impaler’ certainly stands out as one of the highlights of the album.

*Note: Hilarious comedy horror music video was directed by Richard Ayoade, the same director featured in my previous post for his work on his first feature film, Submarine.

Brendan James – The Fall
Brendan James – 2010
I actually had the pleasure of meeting Brendan and going out drinking with him and Ari Hest after a small concert in Madison, Wisconsin.  He is truly an excellent vocalist and his latest album certainly highlights his skills as an artist and songwriter.

*Also check out a video of Brendan doing a great cover of Steve Wonder’s – Isn’t She Lovely.

The Arcade Fire – Ready to Start
The Suburbs – 2010
A great song off of The Arcade Fire’s latest indie-pop album that showcases lead singer Win Butler’s soothing, cryptic voice.

Ed Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – Forty Day Dream
I highlighted another Ed Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros song, Home, earlier this year on a NMM, but I had to stick another song of their’s on here because they are just too fun.
